KOJA Blog
In our eyes, KOJA bars are perfect on their own. They encompass a delicious balance of whole food ingredients; designed by our founder Kate to be satisfying, a little bit sweet and a whole lot nutritious. From a Dietitian’s perspective (that’s me), they tick all of the boxes when it comes to a healthy snack.
However with Easter just around the corner, I wanted to find a way to combine my favourite healthy snacks (hint: KOJA Bars) with my favourite easter treats (hint: chocolate and hot cross buns) in a fun and simple way so that you can make them at home too.
Here’s what I came up with:
Hot Cross Bun Granola w/ Greek Yoghurt and Seasonal Fruit
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 1 x KOJA Health Cinnamon and Raisin Oat Bar
- 1 cup of Greek Yoghurt
- ½ cup of your favourite fruit, we chose apples
- Optional: Extra Cinnamon
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius
- Line a baking tray with baking paper
- Remove the Cinnamon and Raisin Oat Bar from the packaging and softly crumble onto the lined baking tray. Place into the oven for 10 minutes or until golden and crunchy.
- In a small serving bowl, add the greek yoghurt, granola, fresh apple and an optional sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy
Chocolate Dipped Oat Bites
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
- 1 x KOJA Dark Chocolate Chip Oat Bar or 1 x Berry and Coconut Almond Bar
- 2 x Easter Eggs of your choice, halved
- 50g of your favourite chocolate
- 1 x Skewer
Method:
- Slice the Oat or Almond Bar into 4 smaller pieces
- Place the chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, stirring at the ~20 second mark to prevent burning
- Partially place a skewer into the top of each bar and dip into the melting chocolate
- Place the bars onto a plate or lined tray (chocolate-side up) and top with half an easter egg
- Pop into the fridge for 20 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened
‘KOJA-Inspired’ Peanut Butter Easter Eggs
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 1 x KOJA Health Peanut Caramel Peanut Butter Bar
- 20g of chocolate, melted
- Optional: Crushed Nuts
- 1 x Skewer
Method:
- Using your hands, mould the peanut caramel peanut butter bar into an egg-like shape
- Similarly to the oat bites, insert a skewer into the top of the peanut butter bar and dip into the melted chocolate. You will likely have leftover chocolate from the Oat Bites, if not - melt some more by placing the chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and microwaving for ~20-30 seconds.
- Optional: Top with crushed nuts
- Place the Easter Eggs into the fridge
Oat Bliss Balls with Chocolate Drizzle
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
- 1 x Maple Oat Bar
- 20g of melted chocolate
Method:
- Place the oat bar onto a microwave safe plate and place into the microwave for 20 seconds to soften the bar
- Cut the bar half and roll each piece into a ball, using your hands
- Drizzle with your choice of melted chocolate
